5 Smart Tips and Tricks for Fitbit Users

Fitbit

Getting the best Fitbit isn’t that big a deal as is using it right. Fitbit comes with a variety of exciting feature which you may use to automate your life beyond imagination. For that you need to read the instructions and benefits carefully, one step at a time to not miss out on important stuff. We have shortlisted five amazing features for you that you might not have known about your device earlier.

1. Challenge Friends with other Trackers

One of the most exciting features of Fitbit is the ability to challenge friends and family members to compare stats and other activities. You must be thinking that everyone has to have the same brand in order to compare stats and be a part of challenges. That, however, is gladly not the case. By signing up for Matchup, you can challenge people who have Fitbit, Garmin, Jawbone, Apple Watch, Pebble or any other fitness tracker supporting the Apple Health App.

2. Customize the Dashboard

Since Fitbit offers a wide variety of applications, you will have to take your pick on which ones should stay on the display. To do this, open the Fitbit app and go to settings. Select the items you want to see when you tap on the device or for further convenience, enable Quick View. The lesser the items on the display, the longer your battery will last. So choose wisely.

3. Find the Misplaced Tracker

No matter how unusual it sounds to lose something that is on your wrist 24/7, you don’t want to lose this prized possession of yours. To see if you’re nearby the lost tracker, open the Fitbit app on your phone and tap sync. If it manages¬†to do so successfully, you can at least be assured that it isn’t lost for long. You can always download apps specifically designed for this purpose, namely, Bit Finder Geo or Bluetooth LE Explorer App.

4. Wear it Right

Did you know? Which wrist you wear your tracker on, directly affects the heart rate statistics? Since the movement of both our hands is not equal, wearing it on the dominant/active hand interferes with the reading and may produce distorted results that might lead to unwanted actions. Therefore, firstly you need to ensure that you’ve entered the wrist you’re wearing the tracker on, in the Fitbit App. Secondly it is preferable that you wear it on your less active/non-dominant wrist for accurate results.

5. If-This-Then-That (IFTTT)

If you have devices with Bluetooth connectivity, you’re in for a treat. One of the pros of living in a tech savvy world is that you can automate your daily routine with gadgets you have right now i.e. your smartphone, coffee machine, Smart TV, home lighting etc. By signing up for an IFTTT account, you can schedule calls and text messages for yourself, get your coffee brewing, or turn the lighting in your room on on case you’ve overslept.
